Our healthcare facilities are staffed by Kimberlee Yeargin, MD, an experienced board certified emergency medicine physician and five experienced P.A.’s, Janelle Stewart, April Leuzinger, Lynn Joseyln, Chip Jewell and Mike Guillette who have a combined total of over 67 years experience in family practice, ERs and Urgent Cares between them.
Kimberlee Yeargin, M.D.
Dr. Yeargin attended medical school at the University of Washington, Seattle, Washington. She completed her residency at Madigan Army Medical Center-Univeristy of Washington, Fort Lewis/Seatlle, Washington. She is Board Certified in Emergency Medicine. Kim was the Trauma Medical Director at Highline Medical Center in Burien, Washington for 7 years. In 2014 Dr. Yeargin moved to Durango to work with Southwest Emergency Physicians at Mercy Regional Medical Center. In 2015 she joined Aztec and Durango Urgent Care as our Medical Director.
April Leuzinger, PA-C
April has over 15 years of experience in internal, rural, and emergency medicine. Previously, she was a member of Anchorage’s largest family practice and urgent care, which was repeatedly voted “Anchorage’s Best Family Practice Group.” Other areas of expertise include Occupational Medicine and managing kidney and diabetic conditions. She graduated with honors from Idaho State University with Bachelor’s degrees in Physician Assistant Studies and Microbiology. April holds Professional memberships in the Alaska Academy of Physician Assistants and the American Academy of Physician Assistants.
Janelle Stewart, PA-C
Janelle obtained her Master’s of Physician Assistant from University of Utah, Cum Laude in August of 2012. She was a physician’s assistant with Southwest Emergency Physicians before joining the Durango Urgent Care team. Prior to becoming a Physician Assistant, she was a practicing Physical Therapist for 10 years. Her professional affiliations include the American Academy of Physician Assistants, Colorado Academy of Physician Assistants and the Utah Academy of Physician Assistants.
Chip Jewell, PA-C
Chip graduated from Red Rocks Community College Physician Assistant Program in 2013. He has over two years experience in urgent care and prior to becomming a physician assistant, Chip was and still is a paramedic with the Durango Fire Protection District. His professional affiliations include the Colorado Academy of Physician Assistants and the American Academy of Physician Assistants.
Lynn Joselyn, PA-C
Lynn graduated from the University of Iowa. She has over 20 years experience as a physician assistant in urgent care, pediatrics, and family medicine. She divides her time between Durango and Aztec Urgent Care.
Mike Guillette, PA-C
Michael Guillette, PA-C graduated from the University of Washington School of Medicine MEDEX Northwest in 1996 and has 21 years’ local experience working as a Physician’s Assistant . Starting in Family Medicine in Durango, he has practiced in various settings including Mancos Family Medicine and in the Emergency Department at Mercy Regional Medical Center. He holds professional memberships with the American Association of Physician Assistants, Colorado Association of Physician Assistants, Society of Emergency Medicine Physician Assistants, and the Association of Family Practice Physician Assistants. He has worked as a professional Ski Patrolman at Taos Ski Valley and enjoys hunting and fishing in SW Colorado.
