Our healthcare facilities are staffed by Dr. Devon Daney, an experienced board certified family practice physician and four experienced P.A.’s, Mike Guillette, Beth Glotfelty, Janelle Stewart, and April Leuzinger who have a combined total of over 30 years experience in family practice, ERs and Urgent Cares between them.
April Leuzinger, PA-C
April Leuzinger, PA-C joins Aztec Urgent Care with over 10 years of experience in internal, rural, and emergency medicine. Previously, she was a member of Anchorage’s largest family practice and urgent care, which was repeatedly voted “Anchorage’s Best Family Practice Group.” Other areas of expertise include Occupational Medicine and managing kidney and diabetic conditions. She graduated with honors from Idaho State University with Bachelor’s degrees in Physician Assistant Studies and Microbiology. Professional memberships she has held include the Alaska Academy of Physician Assistants and the American Academy of Physician Assistants.
Janelle Stewart, PA-C
Janelle Stewart, PA-C obtained her Master’s of Physician Assistant from University of Utah, Cum Laude in August of 2012. She was a physician’s assistant with Southwest Emergency Physicians before joining the Durango Urgent Care team. Prior to becoming a Physician Assistant, she was a practicing Physical Therapist for 10 years. Her professional affiliations include the American Academy of Physician Assistants, Colorado Academy of Physician Assistants and the Utah Academy of Physician Assistants.
Devon Daney, M.D.
Dr. Daney attended medical school at the Albany Medical College, Albany, New York. She completed her residency at St. Mary’s, Grand Junction, Colorado. She is Board Certified in Family Medicine. In 2008 Dr. Daney moved to Durango and worked with Durango Family Medicine. In 2010 she joined Aztec Urgent Care and also spends time working at Durango Urgent Care. Dr. Daney enjoys cross country skiing, biking, hiking, camping and fly-fishing.
John “Jack” Cartier, M.D.
Dr Jack Cartier is the Medical Director. He attended medical school at the University of Arizona in Tempe, Arizona. He served as an Emergency Room physician at Mercy Regional Medical Centre for 31 Years. Following Mercy’s transition to Centura Health, he relocated to work part time at the ER for Pagosa Mountain Hospital. Dr. Cartier works shifts in both the Durango and Aztec Urgent Care facilities. He is board certified in Emergency Medicine by the American Board of Emergency Medicine.
Mike Guillette, PA-C
Michael Guillette, PA-C graduated from the University of Washington School of Medicine MEDEX Northwest in 1996 and has 18 years’ local experience working as a Physician’s Assistant . Starting in Family Medicine in Durango, he has practiced in various settings including Mancos Family Medicine and in the Emergency Department at Mercy Regional Medical Center. He holds professional memberships with the American Association of Physician Assistants, Colorado Association of Physician Assistants, Society of Emergency Medicine Physician Assistants, and the Association of Family Practice Physician Assistants. He has worked as a professional Ski Patrolman at Taos Ski Valley and enjoys hunting and fishing in SW Colorado.
Beth Glotfelty, PA-C
Beth Glotfelty, PA-C graduated from the University of Washington School of Medicine MEDEX Physician Assistant program in Spokane, Washington, Cum Laude. She has been a practicing certified Physician Assistant for 8 years. Her experience includes Family Practice, Urgent Care, Emergency and Remote Medicine as well as Urology and Surgery. She divides her time between Durango Urgent Care and Aztec Urgent Care. Previously, she was a professional cross country skier.
